                        |          Australia is the land of contrasts. It has a different topography, culture and sites all over the country. There is big difference in the geography and climate as you move across this nation. |            And above all this island nation is also a continent where sun, sand, sea and outdoor lifestyle are inherent part. One cannot be separated from the other.            Image being able to spend a vacation in a World Heritage area? This is Tasmania, which is an island state of Australia, and one fifth of it is a World Heritage area. However, each and every state in Australia has its own national parks which offer different sights. In one state you can go bush walking while in the other you can go rock climbing. If that is not for you, you can go to the east coast and see the magnificent Great Barrier Reef with is corals and multitude marine flora and fauna. Queensland offers you numerous waterfalls and dense tropical rain forests. You can spot rare species of animals in the famous Kakadu National Park, even ancient aboriginal art is found here. Another park for old aboriginal drawing and art is the Namadgi National Park.            With all that one must forget the interesting sights that cities like Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Darwin have to offer. Of course there is the ubiquitous sea where you can enjoy swimming, surfing, parasailing among many other water sports. Just north of Brisbane is the Sunshine Coast where you get some excellent stretches of beaches. However, it is south of Brisbane that is popular and is known as the Gold Coast. This place is famous for people and teenagers who cannot afford a holiday in a better place. You also have the choice of going to historical areas like Alice Springs or William Creek from where you can go to the famous Ayers Rock. William Creek is the most isolated town in entire Australia.            Even skiing and snow is available in Australia. Just visit Melbourne and try your hand at skiing in the Alpine National Park. Or you can visit the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales.           Whether you are looking for a desert, rainforests, scenic beaches, crystal clear water, snowy mountains or just the wonders of a big city, Australia has it all. That would explain why this island continent and nation is one of the most visited.
