Careers that involve world travel include working with airlines and cruise lines, being involved with the travel and tourism industry, hotels and resorts, teaching and volunteering abroad, travel journalism, writing travel experiences and photography, short and long-term work assignments (software professionals and diplomatic officers posted overseas), sales jobs and business travel.
Another interesting career that involves world travel is that of travel sales executive or consultant at any flight centre, wherein he needs to manage all the travelling needs of the clients, promote the travel products and services, and make sure to meet the targets.
One can also take up the job of a traveling nurse in the travel industry (air lines and cruise liners). Cruise liners are legally bound to sail away only when a doctor or trained nurse is present onboard. Traveling nurses are also posted in ambulatory hospitals, at the site of a mishap or natural calamity. Travel nurse jobs are highly rewarding and the nurse also gets a chance to visit and see interesting places abroad. The greatest drawback of this job is that the nurse would need to stay away from home for long periods of time and will need to be available on duty round-the-clock with no holidays or personal time to escape from duty.
