A tourist visa is very important for almost all travelers reaching Vietnam. However, citizens belonging to specific countries may not require visa for entering Vietnam country. These countries include Asian countries, South Korean and Scandinavians citizens and others. |
The tourist visa for Vietnam is very inexpensive compared to fees levied by other countries on their visa application fees. A tourist visa is taken on per entry basis and is valid only for a month but it can be extended further after you reach Vietnam. If you intend to visit Vietnam more than one time, then it is better that you opt for multiple-entry visa.
Also, the rules and procedures pertaining to visa keeps on changing, hence, it is advisable that you should refer exact information about the visa exempted countries and other travel related details from the Vietnam Embassy. If your country is not exempted from visa requirement, you will necessarily have to apply for visa in the Vietnam Embassy; or, you can download the visa application form online.
In cases, where there are no Vietnam Embassies in a particular country, you can opt for ‘visa on arrival’ facility. However, this is a pre-arranged procedure and is only possible in cases where there are no Vietnam Embassies in the locality.
To apply for a tourist visa, you simply need to submit your valid passport, two passport size photographs, and other documents asked by the Embassy, along with your visa application form and fees. It may take around 5-10 days for your visa to get approved from the Hanoi department. Then, you can collect your visa from the Embassy after getting notification that the visa has been accepted.
